Fallout 3 has pretty much taken up all of my free time since it's release.

Click for the high-res.
I feel like I could have done better with the lighting, and possibly have made the explosion BIGGER... but I'd like to think that this was pretty good for a newbie's attempt at a screenshot.
If your computer can handle it... get this game. |

| Goals |
[May. 18th, 2008|10:58 pm] |
Lately, I've been feeling that my life lacks direction. Similar to a mouse running in a wheel.
I'm going to try setting some goals for myself... what they are, however, not even I know.
All I know is that I need change. A massive change. |

You all have no idea how happy this track makes me. Screw the video, though.
I had no idea this was coming, I just kind of stumbled upon it today. Anything relating to Galaxy Express 999 has my approval.
In other news, my concert-going lifestyle continues tonight. I'll be seeing JUSTICE at the Roseland. I think tickets are still available, so if you see this before 9:00 and you enjoy French House or anything on the Ed Banger label, you should go. |

And another concert to go to tonight.
Boredoms @ the Crystal Ballroom. Doors open at 8:00, tickets are $20. You all should go.
This Rock 'n Roll Lifestyle is starting to kick ass. :D |

[Mar. 19th, 2008|03:25 pm] |
The Pillows and Noodles are in town... and not making a stop in Portland.
Here's the best part: I have to work tomorrow morning. (ugh)
They're playing at Club Motor in SODO if any of you Seattle folk want to show up. |

It blows my mind that HDTV isn't really a new idea, and in fact was thought of at least 50 years ago. The video below is from a game show filmed in 1957. The guest... Dr. Philo T. Farnsworth, the inventor of electronic television. The entire video is worth watching, but what I want to make a special mention of is the end of the video where he mentions that he was then working on a way to display in excess of 2000 lines on a screen over a much narrower bandwith and thus increasing picture quality. It's now 2007, and our High-Def televisions are capable displaying 1080 lines with some digital projection systems (Such as the one at our local digital cinemas, Cinetopia) capable of displaying over 2000 lines of information.
Fun fact: This clip is not only awesome because is essentially the first public announcement about high-definition television being a possiblity, but it's also awesome because this was the ONLY time Dr. Farnsworth appeared live on his own invention.

Low-content update here.
Me and the guys are going camping at Fort Stevens next weekend. Then, the weekend after that, most of us are going to PAX. (If you are going to PAX too, you should let me know. Maybe we can meet up at some point during the weekend? I'll be arriving Thursday evening.)
Add in th Daft Punk show at the beginning of the the month and I'm pretty excited about all of this. |

Busy... and full of changes.
Time: I'm working full-time this month. 8a-5p M-F. So, if anyone wants to hang out, it's going to have to be after 5p or during the weekends.
Occupation: I've been given my own cubicle (temporary) and more responsibility at work. Not better pay, mind you, but more responsibility. I hope that if I do well, it may lead somewhere.
Current/Future: As far as how I'm doing (Not that anyone cares.) Things are going pretty well for me right now. I'm comfortable with where I'm at, but things could definitely be better. I want to get out of the house (move out), but at the same time, I know that it can't really be done with the way things are right now. I'm not stable financially... I need to work on that. Being limited with the hours that I can work really sucks. Unfortunately, if I got another job, it would eliminate the flexibility that my current job counts on. Perhaps I'll look into it after this month if I don't take any classes.
Personal Drama: I know you all love this stuff. Yeah, there has been a lot on my mind lately, but nothing that I really want to share in a public space. Sorry. You are all more than welcome to ask me in a private setting.

| Cheap juvenile laughs. (Quite possibly offensive) |

Anyway, I suppose it's mildly offensive, and very, very juvenile.
( Seriously, I warned you. )
Also, please excuse the poor quality... I only had my cell phone on me. |

| DIR EN GREY - HOLY SHIT |
[Jul. 8th, 2007|12:29 pm] |
| [ | Electronic emotion: |
| | HELL YES! | ] |
| [ | Phonograph on: |
| | COALTAR OF THE DEEPERS - Zoei | ] | Everyone who knows me knows that I love Japanese rock music. I have for years, way before it was cool. :P When I tell people this, the first thing I usually get asked by other fans is "Do you like Dir en Grey?" That question has always been a difficult one for me. For the longest time I didn't really care for them. They were cool, but to me, didn't seem to be as cool as other bands like Luna Sea, L'arc~en~Ciel, Pierrot or Siam Shade. So, for the longest time I was never really a HUGE fan of Dir en Grey.
However, when I heard they were coming through Portland this year with the Deftones, I had no choice but to check them out. I've always heard that Dir en Grey really shines at their live performances. And, I'm here to report... that it's absolutely true.
I bought tickets for the two Portland shows (yes, two shows.) the day they went on sale. I mean, Even if Dir en Grey sucked, the Deftones were going to kick ass. So, it was a win-win situation.
The best part about Dir en Grey's performance was the audience, I think. Many of the attendees were there to see the Deftones and had no idea who the hell Dir en Grey was. "I hear they don't even speak English." "These guys are going to suck! The Fall of Troy should play second instead of first!"
Then, as the stage crew removed the cover from Shinya's drumset, the same guy says "HOLY SHIT! YOUR DRUM SET GIVES ME A STIFFY!" And about half-way through the set he says "These guys kick ass!" I was mildly amused.
Anyway, as for Dir en Grey's performance, it was amazing. Definitely lived up to the reputation. Moreso on the second day than the first. The band had a chance to warm up to Portland's audience, as well as the Deftones fans who were unsure of them the first night. I was located at the front, maybe two people in front of me at most. Close enough to be spit on, and touch things they threw into the crowd. (I hit a water bottle from Toshiya, almost caught a pick of Toshiya's, and was about an inch way from being able to get a grip on Shinya's drum stick.)
I could go on and on, but I won't. I'll just say that I had a good time and would definitely do it all again. And, if you ever get the chance to see them play live, DO IT! They made a believer out of me.
Obligitory concert picture: In this one, Kyo looks like a boss from King of Fighters.

| | Luna Sea - Unlikelihood | ] | I had absolutely nothing to do today and I couldn't go anywhere because my car was in the shop. So to keep myself from being completely bored, I did something that I've been putting off for seven years now. (You read that right. SEVEN YEARS) I put together the Master Grade MS-06R-2 ZakuII that I purchased back when I worked at the anime kiosk in the mall at age 16.
