Fallout 3 has pretty much taken up all of my free time since it's release.

Click for the high-res.

I feel like I could have done better with the lighting, and possibly have made the explosion BIGGER... but I'd like to think that this was pretty good for a newbie's attempt at a screenshot.

If your computer can handle it... get this game.

I officially love craigslist.

BEHOLD!: My very own SEGA Astro City cab.

It's not much to look at currently, as the guy I bought it from didn't touch any of the wiring. But, from the looks of the insides, the guy who had it before him didn't know what the hell he was doing. I'm going to have rewire the whole cabinet. As well as replace all of the buttons and joysticks. (The latter I had planned on anyway)

As it sits now, the system is functional. I've been able to play Puzzle Bobble and Puzzle de Pon on it with no problems.

Luckily, the monitor was replaced just before I bought it. (They usually run somewhere around $400!)

The Neo-Geo wasn't the only thing this cab came with. The guy also gave me TWO Final Fight boards, TWO NBA Jam boards, and a Mortal Kombat 1 board. I plan on keeping one of the FF boards and getting rid of the rest.

Are there any games that you would recommend for the Neo-Geo? I already have a few in mind, but I'll take suggestions too.

This is going to be a fun project.

Lately, I've been feeling that my life lacks direction. Similar to a mouse running in a wheel.

I'm going to try setting some goals for myself... what they are, however, not even I know.

All I know is that I need change.
READ THIS! (SERIOUSLY, FUCKING READ THIS! NOW!)

I woke up this morning looking forward to an exceptionally shitty day. I did my usual routine which consists of hitting my alarm's snooze button three times, looking at the clock, and seeing that I only have 40 minutes to shower and get to work. It only takes about 10 to actually get there, so I decided to surf the web for a bit.

In doing so, I came across some TOTALLY RAD FUCKING AWESOME news, which has had me psyched ALL FUCKING DAY.

KING BROTHERS WEST COAST TOUR
OFFICIAL KING BROTHERS HOMEPAGE

"WE TAKE NO RESPONSIBILTY FOR YOUR DEATH DURING OUR SHOW!"

King Brothers have not been to the states in YEARS. And if I hadn't decided to screw around on the internet before work, I would have missed them AGAIN.

Take notice... there are TWO dates in Portland. It is not a mistake. (IT IS AWESOME!)
One on Friday at the East End and one on Sunday at Reed College.

This is going to be THE MOST HIGH ENERGY-SHOW of the spring, maybe even THE ENTIRE YEAR!

Now that we've gotten that out of the way... you better be there. Because if the show doesn't kill you, I might. :P

Anything relating to Galaxy Express 999 has my approval.

In other news, my concert-going lifestyle continues tonight. I'll be seeing JUSTICE at the Roseland. I think tickets are still available, so if you see this before 9:00 and you enjoy French House or anything on the Ed Banger label, you should go.

Tonight's post has been brought to you by SCIENCE!!!!

It blows my mind that HDTV isn't really a new idea, and in fact was thought of at least 50 years ago. The video below is from a game show filmed in 1957. The guest... Dr. Philo T. Farnsworth, the inventor of electronic television. The entire video is worth watching, but what I want to make a special mention of is the end of the video where he mentions that he was then working on a way to display in excess of 2000 lines on a screen over a much narrower bandwith and thus increasing picture quality. It's now 2007, and our High-Def televisions are capable displaying 1080 lines with some digital projection systems (Such as the one at our local digital cinemas, Cinetopia) capable of displaying over 2000 lines of information.

Fun fact: This clip is not only awesome because is essentially the first public announcement about high-definition television being a possiblity, but it's also awesome because this was the ONLY time Dr. Farnsworth appeared live on his own invention.

<lj-embed id="1" />
This is going to be a busy month.

START

Busy... and full of changes.

Time: I'm working full-time this month. 8a-5p M-F. So, if anyone wants to hang out, it's going to have to be after 5p or during the weekends.

Occupation: I've been given my own cubicle (temporary) and more responsibility at work. Not better pay, mind you, but more responsibility. I hope that if I do well, it may lead somewhere.

Current/Future: As far as how I'm doing (Not that anyone cares.) Things are going pretty well for me right now. I'm comfortable with where I'm at, but things could definitely be better. I want to get out of the house (move out), but at the same time, I know that it can't really be done with the way things are right now. I'm not stable financially... I need to work on that. Being limited with the hours that I can work really sucks. Unfortunately, if I got another job, it would eliminate the flexibility that my current job counts on. Perhaps I'll look into it after this month if I don't take any classes.

Personal Drama: I know you all love this stuff. Yeah, there has been a lot on my mind lately, but nothing that I really want to share in a public space. Sorry. You are all more than welcome to ask me in a private setting.

Stupid Picture:

END START

After assembling the last Zaku, I decided that instead of having another one wait for seven years, that I'd just go ahead and get it out of the way.
DIR EN GREY - HOLY SHIT

Everyone who knows me knows that I love Japanese rock music. I have for years, way before it was cool. :P When I tell people this, the first thing I usually get asked by other fans is "Do you like Dir en Grey?" That question has always been a difficult one for me. For the longest time I didn't really care for them. They were cool, but to me, didn't seem to be as cool as other bands like Luna Sea, L'arc~en~Ciel, Pierrot or Siam Shade. So, for the longest time I was never really a HUGE fan of Dir en Grey.

However, when I heard they were coming through Portland this year with the Deftones, I had no choice but to check them out. I've always heard that Dir en Grey really shines at their live performances. And, I'm here to report... that it's absolutely true.

I bought tickets for the two Portland shows (yes, two shows.) the day they went on sale. I mean, Even if Dir en Grey sucked, the Deftones were going to kick ass. So, it was a win-win situation.

The best part about Dir en Grey's performance was the audience, I think. Many of the attendees were there to see the Deftones and had no idea who the hell Dir en Grey was. "I hear they don't even speak English." "These guys are going to suck! The Fall of Troy should play second instead of first!"

Then, as the stage crew removed the cover from Shinya's drumset, the same guy says "HOLY SHIT! YOUR DRUM SET GIVES ME A STIFFY!" And about half-way through the set he says "These guys kick ass!" I was mildly amused.

Anyway, as for Dir en Grey's performance, it was amazing. Definitely lived up to the reputation. Moreso on the second day than the first. The band had a chance to warm up to Portland's audience, as well as the Deftones fans who were unsure of them the first night. I was located at the front, maybe two people in front of me at most. Close enough to be spit on, and touch things they threw into the crowd. (I hit a water bottle from Toshiya, almost caught a pick of Toshiya's, and was about an inch way from being able to get a grip on Shinya's drum stick.)

I could go on and on, but I won't. I'll just say that I had a good time and would definitely do it all again. And, if you ever get the chance to see them play live, DO IT! They made a believer out of me.

Obligitory concert picture: In this one, Kyo looks like a boss from King of Fighters.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

I had absolutely nothing to do today and I couldn't go anywhere because my car was in the shop. So to keep myself from being completely bored, I did something that I've been putting off for seven years now. (You read that right. SEVEN YEARS) I put together the Master Grade MS-06R-2 ZakuII that I purchased back when I worked at the anime kiosk in the mall at age 16.

Pokemon Pearl Friend Code

Here's my Pokemon DS friend code:

UPDATED with the CORRECT friend code.5240 8633 3147

Reply with your code and I'll add you to my list.

I have Pearl not only because I'm comfortable enough in my masculinity to sport the colors purple and pink, but also because 8 of the 10 people I'll probably be playing with already have Diamond.

Just don't come crying to me when my Pearl Godzilla comes around and kicks the crap out of your silly-looking crystal time horse or whatever the heck that inferior Diamond cartridge comes with. :P

Awesome sighting at school this week.

It's not often that I find anything nearly nerdy enough to post on my LJ. But... I did run across something earlier in the week that I just HAD to share with everyone. I was thankful that I had my cell phone on me at the time.

Behold, this masterpiece owned by someone from my school:

Domo-Kun motorcycle helmet!

(not so) Random Thoughts

...and that's when I realized, everything's going to be alright...

I've learned a lot about myself this weekend...

There are many things that I need to work on... Emotionally, Physically and Mentally

Communication is essential.
(I'm glad we could talk. Thank you, again.)

This bump in the road will not faze us.

I've stopped shaking...

I've started thinking...

If these fears of mine are faced head-on... perhaps something amazing will happen.

Progress needs to be made. I need to review my goals... set some new ones, mostly.
(Something small, like cleaning this room would be a good start.)

BlondeCats.

Tomorrow, things will change.

Maybe it's time for a new song... by the same artist.

I love you.
